Unlike most other retail financial institutions, we offer our members the benefits of belonging to a progressive financial cooperative of people helping people.
We help people like you and your neighbors buy cars, own homes, raise families, pay for college and retire comfortably.
We’ve been doing so for over 40 years, and today we’re helping more people than ever.
West Star's members include any employee of any company licensed for Gaming by the State of Nevada and employees of various select employer groups (SEGs) from the original Charter.
If you are employed by any of these qualifying companies, or are related to or living in the same household as anyone who qualifies for membership - you are eligible to join the credit union. And this isn’t typical in the banking world, but here at West Star, we post your Direct Deposit to your account the same day we receive them.
We require a $5 deposit at the time of opening to maintain your account. If your payroll comes in the day before your payday, you get paid early!
At most banks, they hold your Direct Deposit funds until your actual payday.
This allows them to earn interest with USA Patriot Act: To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you.
We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.
Consumer Reports: By submitting an application, you authorize West Star Credit Union to obtain a consumer credit report to evaluate your creditworthiness so that you may be considered for other West Star Credit Union products and services.
You also authorize West Star Credit Union to obtain consumer reports for purposes of evaluating the membership application and reviewing any West Star Credit Union accounts you open.
